set forth in the Historic District's Act (M.G.L. Ch. 40C) and the Salem Historic Districts Ordinance.

Description of Approval of Work:
• Replace roofing with the following conditions:
o Existing natural slate roofing (all sides of lower mansard roof including sections of lower
mansard roof where slate was recently removed and side walls of all roof dormers) to be
replaced with DaVinci Single-Width faux Slate in “Slate Black”
o All existing asphalt roofing and upper slopes of mansard roof to be replaced with GAF
Timberline NS shingles in black to match color of faux slate.
o All existing rubber roofing (excluding upper slopes of mansard roof) to be replaced in-kind.
o Note: Commission recommends that removed natural slate be salvaged if possible.
• New Benjamin Moore paint colors:
o Body: HC-84 “Elmira White” in flat finish
o Trim: HC-87 “Ashley Gray” in semi-gloss
o Doors: HC-182 “Classic Burgundy” in semi-gloss
• NOTE: Unapproved window replacement at this property is still outstanding. Applicant to work
with Staff towards resolution of this violation before the Commission.
Upon completion of work, please notify Historical Commission staff for final review and sign-off of
Certificate.
