Dear Sir/Madam:
In accordance with Chapter II of the State Sanitary Code, 105 CMR 410.000, Minimum
Standards of Fitness for Human Habitation, a recent re-inspection was conducted of your
property located at 27 Salem Street Unit 1 L, conducted by Jeffrey Barosy, Sanitarian of the
Salem Board of Health on February 12, 2026. At that time the following items were still
outstanding:
Bathroom 1:
- The toilet seat is still loose at its base.
.Dwelling Unit:
- The heating system still does not work, failing to keep temperatures in the dwelling
unit between 68OF and 780F between 7:00am and 11:00pm, and between 64°F and
78OF between 11:01 pm and 6:59am.
The heating system is ordered to be corrected within one (1) day of receipt of this report.
Failure to bring the heating system into compliance within this time will result in the
inspector filing a complaint against Salem Real Estate Investment, LLC, in housing court.
Please correct the outstanding violations and contact this office to schedule a final re-
inspection of this apartment.
All other violations noted in the inspection report of January 28, 2026, have been
corrected.

Observations:ln the bathroom, the toilet is loose at its base and wobbles when it is pushed. Repair the toilet so it is
properly affixed to the floor.

Observations:ln both the kitchen and the bathroom, there is no hot water in their respective sinks. Restore hot water to
the dwelling unit. Both sinks need hot water at a temperature between 110.0*F and 130.0*F.The shower needs hot water
at a temperature between 110.0*F and 120.0*F.
Code Description:The owner shall provide and maintain in good operating condition facilities capable of heating and
delivering hot water: (A) In a quantity and pressure sufficient to satisfy the ordinary use of all plumbing fixtures which
normally need hot water for their proper use and function.

Observations:There is no heat in the unit. The following is a list of the temperatures observed in three rooms:
-Living Room: 58.4*F
-Kitchen: 59.4*F
-Bathroom: 60.2*F
At the time of inspection,the dwelling unit's thermostat was set to 70.0*F. Repair the dwelling unit's heating system so
during the heating season it can sustain temperatures between 68.0*F and 78.0*F between 7:00am and 11:00pm and
64.0*F and 78.0*F between 11:01pm and 6:59am.
(NOTE:At the time of inspection, both bedrooms had space heaters which were turned on.)
Code Description: (A)The owner shall provide heat in every habitable room and every room containing a toilet, shower,
or bathtub from September 15th through May 31 st inclusive so that it shall be: (1)At least 68OF (20°C)between 7:00 A.M.
and 11:00 P.M
