VIOLATION NOTICE

Dear owner,
It has come to the building department's attention that the property at 14 Bridge Street
underwent modifications to the basement of the building by adding a kitchen, bathroom, and
several rooms without a permit. Please note that a demolition permit (B-21-516: remove illegal
third unit) was completed on M11ay 4, 2021. to eliminate an illegal third unit in the same space.
This is a violation of the City of Salem's Zoning Ordinance sec. 3.1.4 and working without
permit which is in violation of 780 C MR sec. 105.1. You are directed to cease and desist the
misuse of this property upon receipt of this notice. A demolition permit is to be applied for to
disassemble the kitchen. bathroom, rooms, and utility lines within 15 days of receipt of this
notice.
It was also observed that a space on the second floor of the building underwent modifications by
adding an illegal bathroom adjacent to a staircase which leads to a room that appears to be being
created into a kitchen without a pennit. You are directed to apply for a demolition permit to
disassemble the bathroom and kitchen area within IS days of receipt of this notice.
It \\as obscrced that multiple locations were missing smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms
throughout the building. You are directed to add and update all smoke alarms and carbon
monoxide alarms throughout the building upon receipt of this notice.

ticketing. If you are aggrieved by this notice, your appeal is to the Zoning Board of Appeals.
