RESOLVED, that the common health, welfare, convenience,

benefit and necessity of the inhabitants of the City of Salem
require that all right, title, and interest in the following
described parcels be taken for the purpose of preserving for
conservation purposes Salem"s last natural river, The Forest River,
and forever insuring public access to the f:_oodplain and bordering
rocky uplands, which comprise the parcels which are the subject
of this taking, for purposes of hiking, birding, cross country
skiing, skating, canoeing, horseback riding, picnicking, and
nature study. All trees, shrubbery, bushes, and other natural
vegetation present on the parcels to be taken as of the above
date are specifically included in the taking.
The parcels of land in Salem, Essex County, Massachusetts,
which are the subject of this taking are shown on a plan entitled
"Plan Accom_nanying the 'faking and Transfer of Land in the City of
Salem for Conservation Purposes" on file at the City Engineer's
Office, said parcels being numbered irregularly commencing with
parcel 5, and being described as follows:
