The Building Commissioner, in consultation with the Chair of the Board, has determined that moving the garage door would not be a minor field change. Requesting to modify the existing elevation plans would require an amendment to the original decision. Requesting this amendment would follow a similar process to applying to the ZBA regularly. Please see the attached ZBA Application Guide with instructions on applying to the Board. A statement is not required because you would not be requesting a Variance or a Special Permit. However, a letter explaining why the door would not change the Board's Findings (found on page 7 of the decision) would be helpful for the Board to make a decision. All fees would apply because the amendment request would require a notice through the Salem News. You can access the documents submitted to the Board using the following SharePoint link. Please upload the most updated documents to the OpenGov portal if you apply for an amendment. Let me know if you have any questions. Per your request, I am reaching out to both of you via email to clarify our"Final" plans on the garage located at 22 Vista Ave., Salem. Attached are the final drawings. The only thing that I am asking to revise is simply moving the garage door from the left side,to the front. That is it. There will be no other changes such as, length, width, height etc. It will still be a 4 car garage as already approved. It just makes so much more sense moving that garage door to the front allowing me to drive straight in and being able to drive all the way into the garage. I really hope that we can make this minor adjustment and finally move forward with this project. I sincerely appreciate your combined effort in making this work.
