SALEM CONSERVATION COMMISSION Hearing June 4, 1974
The Salem Conservation Commission held a public hearing on
Tuesday, June 4, 1974, at 8 P. M. at the South Branch, Salem
Public Library regarding the proposal of Kevin Harrington to
erect a timber pier, ramp and pile held float in Salem Harbor.
DNR-64-2 License for proposed work issued 5/1/74 by DPW Division
of Waterways.
Robert LeDoux, attorney for Sen. Harrington, read description
of project. He said his client has received tentative approval
from the Army Corps of Engineers . No dredging or filling contem-
plated at this time . If a need for dredging, he was asked to let
the Conservation Commission know beforehand .
Environmental Protection questions answered. (Commission
would like a copy of these ) . Environmental Assessment Form under
Chap. 131, Sect. 40.
Abutters were notified. None came .
Paul D'Amour asked how they knew mud was not polluted. Mr.
LeDoux replied that the Dept, of Public Health gave approval.
No contemplation of dredging.
No objections to the proposed project were voiced.
The hearing was adjourned at 8 :25.
