WAIVER OF THE DEMOLITION DELAY ORDINANCE
It is hereby certified that the Salem Historical Commission has waived the Demolition Delay Ordinance
for the proposed demolition as described below, as per the requirements set forth in the Historic District's
Act (M.G.L. Ch. 40C) and the Salem Historic Districts Ordinance.

Description of Demolition Work Proposed:
Demolish more than 50% of building roof or walls of building older than 50 years.
Per the Demolition Delay Ordinance, the Commission made the following findings:
1) The Commission voted unanimously to find the building historically significant due to its
documentation on a Form B inventory form
2) The Commission voted unanimously to find the building not preferably preserved due to its
previous renovations and modification .
Waiver is conditional upon the following provisions:
▪ Submission of ¾ view photographs of building with general dimensions to the Historical
Commission prior to demolition
▪ The applicant will obtain all necessary local, state and federal permits.
