Dear Trustee,
As you are aware.,the last snow storm caused the upper roof of the carriage house to collapse and as far as I can
tell from the exterior,the upper roof is resting on the steel cables that were installed several years ago to prevent
the building from expanding outward.The cables were installed as a result of a Court case and at the time the
Court ordered the building to be kept weathertite.
We had an opportunity to discuss the roof collapse with your Contractor working on the Charter Street project.
At this point,the building is dangerous and unsafe and fencing needs to be erected around the perimeter
immediately You will also need to hire a Structural Engineer to design the repair for this structure. There is no
appeal from the dangerous order and failure to address will result in Municipal Code tickets and further
enforcement actions.Please contact this office to discuss your plan for this building.
