Brennan, President and CEO North Shore Community Health 27 Congress Street, Suite 513 Salem, MA 01970 Dear Ms. Brennan: I am writing to express our support for North Shore Community Health's (NSCH) application for federal funding under the Bureau of Primary Health Care Health Center Program's Service Area Competition. NSCH has provided consistent, vital, high quality primary care services to thousands of North Shore residents for nearly fifty years. In collaboration with the City of Salem and in response to community needs, NSCH began providing behavioral health in many of the Salem public schools. NSCH and the Salem Health Department have a history of collaboration that until recently mostly involved information sharing and flu clinics. One of the concrete ways we collaborated was standing up a COVID respite site for people who were homeless, as well as collaborating on COVIDI9 testing and vaccination events. NSCH staff also are active in the Opioid Overdose Prevention Coalition with the City of Salem Health Department to better meet the needs of highly vulnerable Salem residents. The Salem Board of Health is local municipal Health Department that provides mandated public health services to its residents and is actively engaged in health promotion and harm reduction activities within the community. We value our partnership with North Shore Community Health and its continued efforts to improve the health and well-being of Salem residents and visitors. We look forward to continuing to work together to improve the health of our community. We fully support NSCH's application for continuation funding from HRSA to support its ability to provide comprehensive, high quality primary care to residents of the North Shore regardless of ability to pay.
