Dear Mr. Mansfield: # a
On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, the Salem Board of Health conducted a hearing at your request relative
to an appeal of a fine for the operation of an unregistered, uninspected short-term rental located at
275-281 Essex Street#303.
At this meeting, you had the opportunity to be heard by the Board regarding why the fine should be
modified or rescinded.
After hearing all the evidence in this case, the Board of Health voted to uphold the order.
Additionally, because you did not receive an initial cease and desist order as has been protocol, the
Board voted to reduce the fine from $9,600.00 to $3,200.00.
Therefore, the order is valid and the cease and desist order remains in place.
A check in the amount of$3,200.00 made payable to the City of Salem must be received in the
Board of Health office within ten (10) day of receipt of this letter
Your appeal of the Board's decision is to the Superior Court.
