Dear Homeowner
The August 31,2018 inspection has revealed that you currently
have two(2)residential units.Your building is a single residential structure.
You have added an additional residential unit with no record of
Building permits.
You are directed to cease the use of the additional unit and to secure necessary
Building,Plumbing, and Electrical permits to remove the illegal unit failure to comply
will result in municipal code tickets and further enforcement actions. If you wish to
appeal the zoning issue,your appeal is to the Salem Zoning Board of Appeals.
The option of maintaining the unit as an in-law apartment as discussed
would have to be executed by being granted a special permit through the Salem
Zoning Board Of Appeals.
