Will hold a public hearing for all people interested in the petition of KATHLEEN SIROIS at 284
WASHINGTON STREET (Map 34, Lot 0260) (R3 Zoning District) for Variances per Section 4.1.1
Dimensional Requirements and Section 5.1.8 Required Parking Spaces, and a Special Permit per Section 3.3.2
Nonconforming Uses of the Salem Zoning Ordinance to convert a nonconforming first-floor office space with
two (2) dwelling units on the second and third floor to a nonconforming first-floor office space with three (3)
dwelling units on the first, second, and third floor. The proposed Variances would allow a decrease from
2,483 square feet per dwelling unit to 1,655 square feet per dwelling unit with four (4) parking spaces where
seven (7) parking spaces are required.
The Board will hold the public hearing remotely on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 6:30 PM. The agenda
and meeting link will be posted to the City Calendar and online at Salemma.gov/877/Zoning-Board-Of-
Appeals by October 10, 2025. The City is authorized to conduct remote meetings of its public bodies through
special acts of the Massachusetts State Legislature.
