Dear City Hall,
I'm writing to share my concern about a property owned by
Kathleen Ann Sirois that has had number 4 units that has been
illegal units for about 10 years. Recently, an inspector from Salem
came to review the building and told her she has to remove the
tenants because they are living there illegally without permits for
the four units.
Now, Kathleen is trying to apply to make the four units legal.
However, the property only has 4 parking spaces in the back, and
adding more tenants would make the area overcrowded and unsafe.
I'm worried that the limited parking could lead to accidents or
problems with traffic since there isn't enough room for more cars.
In addition, Kathleen has never been willing to pay extra for utilities
like water, gas, and electricity, even with multiple tenants living
there. I'm concerned that allowing her to legalize the units without
addressing these issues could cause more problems for the
neighborhood.
