We have received complaints that you are renting an apartment on the first floor of 284
Washington St. in Salem Ma. According to our records there was a permit to make the first-floor
space into an office. Ther are no permits to change the use and divide the first-floor space into
two units which it is now. This is an illegal apartment. You are required to stop using the
residential space and disassemble it. You will need a permit to do this. 2015 IBC Section 105.1.
If you feel aggrieved by this complaint your Appeal is to the Board of Buildings Regulations and
Standards in Boston.
