Dear Bryan,
The Salem Building Department has inspected at 95 Jackson St. The has been framing of a
dwelling unit in the basement. This was done without a permit. Under the Intemational Resident
Building Code section 105.1 any owner or authorized agent who intends to construct alter or
repair, remove, convert or replace any gas or electrical mechanical or plumbing systems requires
a permit.
You are required to apply for a permit to either disassemble or if you want to leave it and tell
how it will be used. It cannot be used as a dwelling. Any questions please contact me directly.
If you feel aggrieved by this order, your appeal is to the Board of Buildings, Regulations and
Standards in Boston.
