An on-site inspection was conducted on February 1, 2023 by Elizabeth Gagakis Senior Sanitarian for the Board of Health. At the time of inspection, there were several rat burrows noted in the back corner of the yard adjacent to the garage next door. Raccoons, rodents, etc. are considered a neighborhood nuisance and community health hazard. The property must be inspected and treated by a licensed exterminator. After extermination has taken place, all holes and/or other deficiencies identified by the exterminator must be filled and/or repaired to help abate the rodent population. All trash and debris must be kept in barrels with tight-fitting covers and the property must be kept in a neat, sanitary manner to support the extermination efforts. Extermination must continue until the rat nuisance is abated. In accordance with Mass General Laws, Chapter 111, Section 123 you are ordered to retain the services of a licensed exterminator and suppress any rodent or animal population at the property within fourteen (14) days of receipt of this order. Copies of invoices for treatments must be forwarded to this department upon completion of the extermination. i Should you be aggrieved by this order, you have the right to request a hearing before the Board of Health. A request for said hearing must be received in writing in the office of the Board of Health within 7 Days of receipt of this order. At said hearing, you will be given an opportunity to be heard and to present witness and documentary evidence as to why this order should be modified or withdrawn. You may be represented by an attorney. Please also be informed that you have the right to inspect and obtain copies of all relevant inspection or investigation reports, orders, and other documentary information in the possession of this Board, and that any adverse party has the right to be present at the hearing.
