An onsite inspection conducted by David Greenbaum, Health Agent for the Salem Board of Health on Thursday,April 18, 2024, noted a camper set up in the driveway. Additionally,the enclosed listing for this camper was found on Airbnb. This is a violation of both, 105 CMR 410.440:.Temporary Housing (A) No person may allow temporary housing to be occupied without the written permission of the board of health and City Ordinance, Chapter 15 SHORT-TERM RESIDENTIAL RENTALS,Residential unit.A residential unit is a dwelling unit as defined in the zoning ordinance but excludes the following: a congregate living complex; elderly housing; a group residence; a homeless shelter;temporary dwelling structure; and transitional housing. Therefore, in accordance with 105 CMR 410.440 and City of Salem Code of Ordinances, Chapter 15,you are hereby ordered to cease and desist occupying this camper as temporary housing and to cease and desist the operation of this short-term rental from this camper. Failure to comply with this order may result in further enforcement action including monetary fines and a complaint being sought against you in Salem District Court.
