RE: Stop Work Order; Working without permit.
Dear Property Owner,
As of October 14, 2025, it has come to the building department's attention that work has begun
on the front deck of the building at 56 Highland Avenue without a permit. This is a violation
Salem MA Code of Ordinances Section 12-2 and 780 CMR section 105.1.
No further work may continue at the property until proper documents have been submitted and
approvals have taken place. Please contact the Building Department at(978) 619-5662 upon
receipt of this notice. Failure to comply will result in municipal ticketing. If you are aggrieved by
this letter, your appeal is to the Board of Building Regulations and Standards.
