Upon arrival I spoke with Eaton Quentin, Administrator of the estate, who 'was in the process of removing the superstructure of the garage foundation. This material was to be removed this date and will leave just the foundation on site. Mr. Robert Blenkhorn, Salem Health Agent arrived while I was on the scene, and he was to check the area for matters concerning his jurisdiction. The other structures appeared to be secured from vandalism and no sign of any rodents was observed at this time. Respectf ly submit 0 ggiaP an Salem -Fire Marshal cci Ms. J. The front and rear porches are in a rotted condition and present a danger to anyone who might walk on them. 2. There are open windows which provide easy access to vandals, birds, etc. 3. Some of the gutters are in danger of falling, which presents a danger to anyone standing below. Perley Sir: A follow up inspection was conducted by Inspector Raymond T. Dansreau and myself at 1510 hours on this date , of the property situated at 21 Fairmount Street, to determine if conditions outlined in the violation notice issued on Y.arch 23, were complied with. The vacant structure has been secured in such a manner as to pre- clude easy access to same. All windows are nailed shut on the first floor or tightly locked. One window on the side toward #19 Fairmount Street, has been broken by a rock. This is an upper sash on a first floor window. The outbuildings are boarded and appear secure from vandalism. as of this date. The gutter area still has some loose boarding but it appears that it is mostly a cosmetic problem. One gallon can of Coleman fuel, was observed through a window on the Nursery Street side. I could not tell if it contained any fuel. In general, the area has been secured sufficiently to comply with my request to prevent easy access to the building. If the yard is kept free of debris and weeds are not allowed to get out of hand , and furthur damage is not done to windows= I would consider the structure to meet the minimum standards for security. .
