Dear Mr. Peter Strout:
The Salem Commission on Disabilities is in receipt of a letter from Mr.
Todd Main, of Todd Main& Company, ref: the elevator, lack of;located at the Daniel Low
Building, 231 Essex Street, Salem, Massachusetts 01970.
The letter informs us of the reason for the delay in operation for the elevator and their intended
remedy.
The absence of this elevator has caused an undo hardship for Joan
Boudreau, of Colonial Hall Functions. This commission feels that due to the unusual
circumstances of this isolated incidence that it is appropriate to lend our support for her to follow
through on her production as scheduled.
We have been informed that production is to begin on Friday, October 19, 2001, ending on
Thursday,November 1, 2001.

will be put up as soon as possible.
Recommend that some kind of fire detection system be installed
in 2nd floor storage areas, sprinklers or smoke detectors also
