Lifebridge 56 Margin street Salem Ma. 01970 Art Mark Cote, Director R.E: Building Code concern 20 Endicott Street Dear Mr. Cote, I was asked to take a look at the rear porch of the property at 20 Endiocott Street. The Porches were constructed of pressure treated wood. The floor joists run perpendicular to the building and are attached to the rim joist on the building end by metal hangers. The other end was nailed to the outer rim joist and does not have hangers. The outer rim joist has pulled away from the end of the floor joists. This is creating the possibility for a structural collapse. You are directed to secure a building permit and to make the repair within 30 days of this notice. Also, you are directed to not use the porch until the repairs are complete.
