Dear Mr. Greenbaum and Ms. Karasik:
I received a letter from you concerning 53 Charter Street in Salem. The letter was dated July 1,
2024. It was postmarked July 10, 2024. 1 received it yesterday, July 13, 2024.
Your letter states that I do not have a"Certificate of Fitness for the rental unit(s) at the above
referenced address," that is 53 Charter Street. I rent no units whatsoever at 53 Charter Street.
53 Charter Street is a national landmark. The house was built in 1770. 1 have undertaken an
extensive historic restoration of the structure. The plans for this project were officially approved
by the Salem Redevelopment Authority, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the National
Park Service. The work is ongoing. I rent to no one at 53 Charter Street in Salem.
I am emailing this reply to your letter today, Sunday, July 14, 2024. 1 will mail a hard copy of this
letter to your office tomorrow, July 15, 2024. Thank you.
