The Board was mostly concerned about having a third-party professional reviewing the health of the
tree. So, thank you for your review! While the Board's decision would give your recommenda on
enforcement power on 21 Webb Street, the Board's decision would not give enforcement power for any
recommenda on on 7 Rear English Street. So, this all makes sense.
I share this informa on with the Building Department so the Applicant does not run into issues
obtaining a building or founda on permit.

Good A ernoon Brennan,
I had an opportunity to inspect the private tree located behind 21 webb/English street. It does not
appear that the construc on process will interfere with the health of the tree based on the designated
excava on areas pointed out to me while on site. Just as a precau on it would be beneficial for the
resident/private tree to place protec on around the tree that coincides with the City of Salem tree
protec on ordinance but since it is a private tree, I am not able to enforce. Just a recommenda on for
protec on.
