a) Social, economic, or community needs served by the proposal;
This small but important project will allow the Spi le family to remain in their home in Salem by
retrofi)ng their home to meet the needs of their family. A more adequate entry / mudroom will
serve the en/re family and the healthcare workers for their daughter providing a safe transi/on
space from the outside. Similarly, a full bath on the first floor will improve the daily lives of the
en/re family as there is currently only a small powder room on the first floor.
b) Traffic flow and safety, including parking and loading;
There will be no change to traffic flow and safety, including parking and loading.
c) Adequacy of u/li/es and other public services;
The small addi/on displaces an exis/ng half bath to create a full bath, and the current water and
sewer facili/es are adequate; no other public services are affected.
d) Impacts on the natural environment, including drainage;
The new project including 71 sq 7 addi/on and deck includes a surrounding french drain around
the deck to percolate all new roof run-off.
e) Neighborhood character; and
The small addi/on and deck is minimal and will be in keeping with the historic nature of the
surrounding neighborhood character.
f) Poten/al fiscal impact, including impact on City Tax base and employment.
There is no fiscal impact on the City Tax base and employment.
