As of June 10, 2025, it has come to the building department's attention that work began without
a permit at 48 Essex Street. This is a violation Salem MA Code of Ordinances Section 12-2 and
International Building Code Section 105.1.
No further work may continue at the property until all proper documents have been submitted,
and approvals have taken place. Please contact the Building Department at (978) 619-5662 upon
receipt of this notice. If you are aggrieved by this letter, your appeal is to the Zoning Board of
Appeals.
