RE: Building Violation
Dear Property Owner,
During a mandatory building inspection on June 3, 2025. It was observed that the
property at 29 Perkins Street has two separate basement areas being used as illegal
dwelling units without proper means of egress. This is in violation of Intemational
Building Code; Chapter 10-Means of Egress. You are directed to remove beds and
furniture from both illegal basement units upon receipt of this letter.
After further inspection of the property, it was observed in Unit 1 (First floor; front-left
side) that one of the two means of egresses passes through a room being used as a
bedroom. This is in violation of the International Building Code; Sec. 1016.2. It was also
noted that the same unit does not have a carbon monoxide detector which is in violation
of sec. 915. It was also noted at the top landing areas of both staircases are being used as
storage areas by tenants. This is in violation of International Building Code; Chapter to-
Means of Egress.
You are directed to address these violations upon receipt of this letter.
Sincerely,
Mike Fabiano
Code Enforcement/Local Building Inspector
