VIOLATION NOTICE
RE:# 3 %: Rear Buffum St.
Dear Elton,
The Salem Building Department has inspected 3 '/z Rear Buffum St. There has been renovation
work Demolition, Framing and Window installation. This work was done without a permit.
Under the Massachusetts Building Code 780 CMR Section 114.1 Unlawful Acts.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to erect, construct, alter, extend, repair,
remove, demolish, occupy, or change the use or occupancy of any building, structure in violation
of the provisions of 780 CMR. Such an order shall direct the discontinuance of the illegal action
or condition and the abatement of the violation.
You are required to Stop Work and apply for a permit for the scope of work you want to do. The
application must be approved before work can commence.
If you feel aggrieved by this order, your appeal is to the Board of Buildings, Regulations and
Standards in Boston.
