It is hereby certified that the Salem Historical Commission has determined that the proposed:

as described below will be appropriate to the preservation of said Historic District, as per the requirements
set forth in the Historic District's Act (M.G.L. Ch. 40C) and the Salem Historic Districts Ordinance.

Description of Approval of Work:
▪ Replace existing asphalt roof shingles with IKO architectural shingles in Granite Black;
▪ Install solar panels on east, west and north roof slopes per attached image 1;
▪ Install associated ¾” electrical conduit for panels at junction of main house and addition per image 2.
Conduit to be positioned behind quoins and downspouts to minimize visibility. Conduit to be painted to
match underlying house color;
▪ Install new exterior electrical disconnect adjacent to solar conduit at junction of main house and
addition per image 2. Disconnect box to be painted to match underlying house color.
NOTE: Electrical panel to remain in building interior as currently existing.
