WAIVER OF THE DEMOLITION DELAY ORDINANCE
It is hereby certified that the Salem Historical Commission has waived the Demolition Delay Ordinance
for the proposed demolition as described below, as per the requirements set forth in the Historic District's
Act (M.G.L. Ch. 40C) and the Salem Historic Districts Ordinance.

Description of Demolition Work Proposed:
Demolish more than 50% of roof on building older than 50 years.
Per the Demolition Delay Ordinance, the Commission made the following findings:
1) The Commission voted unanimously to find the building historically significant as a well-
preserved example of a ca. 1930 Colonial Revival style residence; and
2) Based on the revised renovation plans by WORKS by JD dated 11/20/24 (see attached image),
which adds a façade dormer that is set back from plane of building façade and has significant
setbacks from sides of roof, the Commission voted unanimously (6-0) to find the roof not
preferably preserved and the work may proceed on the improvements shown on the plans.
