Zoning Board of Appeals Application r-z C C
Oz Y
Application ID: ZBA-24-16 Date submitted: April 29, 2024 z
TO THE BOARD OF APPEALS:
The Undersigned represent(s)that they are the owner(s)of a certain parcel of land located at:
Address:6 WEST TERRACE Zoning District:R1
An application is being submitted to the Board of Appeals for the following reason(s):
We are proposing to add a 12 ft x 28 ft addition to the back of the house at 6 West Terrace in the R1 Zoning district by first removing a
smaller decrepit porch. The Zoning Ordinance requires a 10 it side yard set back. This house is existing non-conforming. The proposed
addition will not make the non-conformity worse, it will stay at the existing set back of 5.5 ft of the existing porch to be removed.
For this reason,I am requesting:
[J Variance(s)from provisions of Section of the Zoning Ordinance,specifically from.
LLru_QJ A Special Permit under Section 3.3.5 of the Zoning Ordinance in order to provide more living space for this family of 4
[J Appealing a Decision of the Building Inspector:
L]Comprehensive Permit:
Current Property Use:R1 residential Are Lot Dimensions Included:Yes
The Undersigned hereby petitions the Board of Appeals to vary the terms of the Salem Zoning Ordinance and allow the project to be
constructed as per the plans submitted,as the enforcement of said Zoning By-Laws would involve practical difficulty or unnecessary
hardship to the Undersigned and relief may be granted without substantially derogating from the intent and purpose of the Zoning
Ordinance.
Statement of Hardship(for Variances):
Statement of Grounds(for Special Permits):
Our proposal to add a 1 story addition to 6 West Terrace will not change the use as a single family house. There will be no effect on the
social,economic,or community needs,traffic,parking or tax base. There will be no environmental impact.
