You may type the Statement of Hardship in the below text box and/or attach it as a separate docurnent in the Attachments sectton. lf you will only attach the Statement separately, please note "Attached separately" in the text box below. Statement of Hardship * We want to use the existing structure, which is currently the open porch behind the garage, as a three (3)-season room. This was built in October 2023, permitted, inspected and approved by the city. The porch is hidden behind the garage that has a 4ft setback on the westerly side. The only thing on the west side is my fence facing my neighbor. We want to enclose the existing structure by adding walls and windows. lf we are not allowed to enclose the existing structure, we are being denied our quiet enjoymenUuse of the property. The '10 feet setback will not be met on the westerly boundary. lt will be 4ft 6 inches from the property line. The proposal does not increase the nonconformity of the west side setback at the property. Allowing the closure of the room will extend the seasons we are allowed to use the porch. There will be no impact on the natural environment and drainage. The Historical Commission has approved the enclosure. We respectlully request that relief be granted as there will be no substantial detriment to the public good, or nullifying or substantially derogating form the intent of the district or the purpose of the ordinance.
