Hi Voula:
In your capacity as Salem's Zoning Enforcement Officer, I request that you grant a waiver of the
need for a Streetscape Plan to accompany a zoning petition that I am filing today for my client,
owner Gerald Blumenstock for Dimensional Variances to allow the construction of a detached
garage on his property at his residence at 90 Mason Street.
This is such a remote location at the end of Mason Street and at the bottom of Mack Park, which
completely surrounds the property, that there are no other houses on our side of the street even
visible to the left or right, which defeats the purpose of the streetscape. There are several
residences on the other side of Mason St. who will get notice, but I do not think the ordinance
requires a streetscape for them.
Please respond before the hearing in January so that I may have one prepared, but it will not even
show any abutters on our side of the street.
