The Undersigned represent(s)that they are the owner(s)of a certain parcel of land located at:

An application is being submitted to the Board of Appeals for the following reason(s):
I,the property owner,would like to build an additional stairs at 183 North st,a corner corner house.the stairs will be located four feet from
the property line.95%of homes around my house use the sidewalk as the first step for their stairs,so I was hoping this would not be a
problem.Reason I would like to build the additional stairs is to be able to have a second separate entrance for a studio as this is a
requirement by the city of Salem.
For this reason,I am requesting:
L1LqpJ Variance(s)from provisions of Section Building r2 zone of the Zoning Ordinance,specifically from There is a 10-15 feet setback
for new construction per the city of Salem.The new stairs will only be four feet away from the property line on the side of the house.The
house next to me is even closer to the property line(I understand the house next to me is existing).A permit application has already been
submitted to the building department. .

The Undersigned hereby petitions the Board of Appeals to vary the terms of the Salem Zoning Ordinance and allow the project to be
constructed as per the plans submitted,as the enforcement of said Zoning By-Laws would involve practical difficulty or unnecessary
hardship to the Undersigned and relief may be granted without substantially derogating from the intent and purpose of the Zoning
Ordinance.
Statement of Hardship(for Variances):
I would like to eventually build a studio for rent but I need a send entrance per the city of Salem.This construction of a new stairs will not
cause subtatial detriment to the public good or derogate any surroundings.This would be of great benefit to me and will be an
environmentally sustainable addition to the city of Salem for additional public housing without the need for newly contructed home.
