Dear Sir/Madam:
In accordance with Chapter II of the State Sanitary Code, 105 CMR 410.000, Minimum
Standards of Fitness for Human Habitation, a recent re-inspection was conducted of your
property located at 37 Ward Street Unit 6, conducted by Jeffrey Barosy, Sanitarian of the
Salem Board of Health on April 3, 2025. At that time the following items were still outstanding:
Bedroom 2:
- The dwelling unit still has mice. Mice droppings were found in this bedroom and
the pantry.
Exterior:
- The burrows at the base of the property remain.
Please read the attached report for further details. Please correct the outstanding violations and
contact this office to schedule a final re-inspection of this apartment.

Observations:At the base of the property, in the alleyway between the property and
41-43 Ward Street, there are rat holes in ground. Some of these rat holes lead to
under the property's foundation. Exterminate rats and fill these holes. Extermination is
to continue until rats are no longer a public health nuisance on the property.

The occupant stated no one came to her dwelling unit to exterminate the mice since the initial housing letter was issued.
The occupant informed the inspector there is no longer an odor coming from behind a wall in her bedroom.
On the same day after the re-inspection the inspector visited Peabody Property's office. Peabody Property is the property
manager for 37 Ward Street. During this visit the employees informed the inspector they did not receive a copy of the housing
letter issued in January 2025. The letter was mailed to the owner of the property, but the property managers were not informed.
The inspector acquired the property manager's email address and mailing address. Going forward,the inspector will send all
documentation directly to the property manager through email and postal mail.
On the same day as the re-inspection the Peabody Property employees gave the inspector documentation,via email, showing
the dwelling unit has been visited by a pest control service.The inspector emailed the property manager a copy of the housing
letter issued in January 2025.
