RE: Stop Work Order; Working without permit.
Dear Steven Gribbin,
As of February 26, 2025 it has come to my attention that work began without a
permit at 10 Colonial Road Unit 15. This is a violation of Massachusetts
Building Code section 105.1. A site visit was conducted on February 26, 2025
where it was observed that demolition, concrete slab-cutting, trenching,
plumbing, electrical, building and fire system work had been conducted A
phone call was placed directly to the property owner, Steven Gribbin, where he
was verbally told to stop-work immediately followed by a visible notice placed on
the fafade of the building. As of March 3, 2025 it was brought to my attention
that the city's fire prevention unit observed an insulation truck on the premises.
This resulted in a second stop-work since February 16, 2025.
No further work may continue at the property until a building permit has been
applied for and all proper documents have been submitted, and approvals have
taken place. Until a building permit has been applied for, a fine of$300.00 will be
issued every day until the application is submitted.
Please contact the Building Department at (978) 619-5662 upon receipt of this
notice. If you are aggrieved by this letter, your appeal is to the Building Code
Appeals Board.
