Summary of Review Review of Design Drawings – 275 Lafayette Street and 26 Summit Street Meeting Date: June 26, 2024 Members Present: Paul Durand, Catherine Miller, Marc Perras, Sarah Tarbet Members Absent: David Jaquith, Leeann Leftwich, Elizabeth Murray Summary: At a regular meeting of the Design Review Board (DRB), members considered the progressed design drawings for the project at 275 Lafayette and 26 Summit Streets, which was originally reviewed under the City’s Entrance Corridor Overlay District. Representing the applicant were Dan Ricciarelli and Julia Mooradian of Seger Architects, Inc., 83 North Street, Salem. Mr. Ricciarelli and Ms. Mooradian reviewed the various façade changes resulting from their Salem Historic Commission reviews, as well as revisions to the landscape plan based on the DRB’s August 2023 Recommendation. DRB members found that the revisions were thoughtful and respectful to the surrounding built environment, which is in a Local Historic District. Members found that the changes to the landscape, which resulted in additional shade trees, will be beneficial both visually and for the future tenants.
