Exterior Facade ModificationsDecision Small Project Review - SRA-24-10 Address of Project: 9 CROMBIE STREET Meeting Date:May 8, 2024 Members Present:Grace Napolitano, Christine Madore, Cynthia Nina-Soto, Dean Rubin Members Absent:Christopher Dunn Decision:To approve the project as presented and conditioned herein. Referenced Plans and Documents: - Application package prepared by Seger Architects, 83 North Street, Salem, MA 01970 and submitted on March 26, 2024. Conditions of Approval: - Validity of Approval: This approval is valid for two years from the date of the meeting. The approval shall no longer be valid if a substantial use and/or construction has not commenced except for good cause within this two-year period. - Consistency with Approved Design/Plans: Should the applicant determine that the project may not be completed as presented and conditioned herein, he/she/they shall return to the SRA to review proposed modifications prior to making any changes in the field. - Findings: - The Authority found that the project, due to its location approximately 45' from the public way, will have minimal visual impact to the Downtown Renewal Area and the immediately abutting properties. The Authority determined that the repointing of the brick masonry is consistent with the design standards in the Downtown Renewal Plan and in the SHC Notebook. Removing masonry infill of former window on the right side of the front elevation to install matching double hung window. 3. Installing an entry door on the left side of the front elevation in the existing window location. 4. Adding a new canopy over the facade width for the covered entry. Standing seam "Freedom Gray" standing seam roof with composite wood fascia and corbels. 5. Installing replacement windows to match the existing with dual glazed, SDL, double hung aluminum clad windows (Andersen or equal). 6. Painting the existing trim and Palladian transoms. 7. Retaining all gutters, downspouts, and shingles.
