Referenced Plans and Documents:
- Plan set titled '10 Derby Square Window Replacement', prepared by Jones Architecture, 10 Derby Square, Salem, MA 01970, submitted 6/23/22.
Design Review Board Recommendation dated 7/28/22.
Conditions of Approval:
- Validity of Approval: This approval is valid for two years from the date of the meeting. The approval shall no longer be valid if a substantial use and/or
construction has not commenced except for good cause within this two-year period.
- Consistency with Approved Desi gn/Plans: Should the applicant determine that the project may not be completed as presented and conditioned herein,
he/she/they shall return to the SRA to review proposed modifications prior to making any changes in the fi eld.
- The replacement windows for this project must be identical to those used in the prior project that replaced the windows on the fourth floor.
Findings:
- Members found that the project as presented to be an appropriate way to maintain the building without negatively impacting its architecture and integrity.
Members found that the proposed replacement windows are appropriate for the building. The windows will be aluminum clad with wood interior, double
hung with identical light patterns as currently exist. The window will be simulated divided light wi th exterior mullions and will be inserted into the existing
wood trim.
The Authority was pleased that the existing historic windows will be salvaged and reused.

Remove existing wood windows on the North Side of the 3rd floor of 10 Derby Square.
Wood sub-frame and exterior trim would remain and be clad in aluminum. New
replacement windows would be partially set into the sub-frame. New simulated divided
light, aluminum-clad wood replacement windows to be provided by Marvin. Exterior
window and trim color(s) would remain the same. Mullion patterns would remain the
same.
