Decision: At a regular meeting of the Design Review Board (DRB), upon a motion duly made and seconded,
it was unanimously voted to recommend approval of the sign proposal as designed and conditioned herein.

Condition of Approval
1. Consistency with Design/Plans: Should the applicant determine that the approved sign design may
not be completed as detailed in the plans referenced herein and the following conditions,
he/she/they shall return to the DRB to review proposed modifications prior to making any changes
in the field.
2. Adjustment of Text: To increase readability, the text shall be slightly thicker or bolder. Though not
so thick as to close in the ‘e’ in Sage.
Findings
1. The DRB reviewed the sign proposal and found that the proposed signage is consistent with the
standards and guidelines in the SRA Sign Manual and the City of Salem Sign Ordinance.
2. The proposal is modest with members appreciating its simplicity in design.
3. The use of the existing bracket and sign frame will ensure that the new sign will be cohesive with the
existing signs along this commercial block.

conditioned herein.

2. Adjustment of Text: To increase readability, the text reading ‘Apparel’, ‘Home’, and ‘Apothecary’
shall be ‘stacked’ and centered in the window as shown on the Revised Window Decal Rendering
provided by Glenn Kennedy.
