I apologize for the late response; my interpretation of the sign ordinance term ” on premises” is interpreted as on
the building or the property that the building occupies.
My determination is that the sign is allowed anywhere on the same property as the pirate museum is located on.

I wanted to follow up on our quick conversaƟon last week about the Sign Ordinance as it applies to the signage that
the Real Pirates Museum would like to place on the front of the building at 289 Derby St. The Museum occupies most
of the space in the building and would like to place a sign on the front of the building. We need a determinaƟon by you
that a sign on the front of the building would consƟtute an “on premises” sign allowed under the Ordinance and then we
can proceed with design of the sign that complies with all other requirements of the Ordinance.
