Michael Sullivan Decision: At a regular meeting of the Design Review Board (DRB), upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously voted to recommend approval of the awning signs as designed and conditioned herein. Referenced Plans and Documents 1. Sign Proposal, prepared by Excel Signs, 49 Whitney Road, Quincy, MA 02169, dated 5/2/21. 2. Revised Rendering, prepared by Glenn Kennedy, DRB Member, submitted 6/3/21. 3. Staff Comments dated 5/20/21. Conditions of Approval 1. Consistency with Design/Plans: Should the applicant determine that the approved signage may not be completed as detailed in the plans referenced herein and the following conditions, he/she/they shall return to the DRB to review proposed modifications prior to making any changes in the field. 2. Sign Design: The applicant shall adjust the proposed design as follows: a. Remove the bar/line between the two lines of text. b. Remove the word ‘Juicy’ from the signs. c. Change the color of the text from white to yellow. Findings 1. The DRB reviewed the sign proposal and found that the proposed signage is consistent with the standards and guidelines in the SRA Sign Manual and the City of Salem Sign Ordinance. 2. The adjustments made to the text and the design create a clean, legible sign for the restaurant.
