Michael Sullivan Members Absent: None Decision: At a regular meeting of the Design Review Board (DRB), upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously voted to recommend approval of the sign proposal as designed and conditioned herein. Referenced Plans and Documents 1. Sign Proposal, prepared by Steez Design, 3 Washington Street, Beverly, MA 01915, submitted by Patrick Schultz on 3/10/21. 2. Revised renderings submitted by Jennifer Tran on March 30, 2021. 3. Staff Comments dated 3/17/21. Conditions of Approval 1. Consistency with Design/Plans: Should the applicant determine that the approved sign design may not be completed as detailed in the plans referenced herein and the following conditions, he/she/they shall return to the DRB to review proposed modifications prior to making any changes in the field. 2. Projecting Sign Surety Bond: The applicant shall adhere to the surety bond requirements as found in the City of Salem’s Code of Ordinances, Section 4-47: Signs or Structures over Public Ways. 3. Projecting Sign Illumination: The sign shall feature neon tube lighting for the text reading ‘All Souls’, installed on the flat plane of the sign so that the neon tubing is exposed, creating a three- dimensional sign. 4. Window Sign Size: The window decal for the entry door shall be reduced in size for a total square footage of 3.375, which results in 19.85% window coverage, as depicted in the March 30, 2021 revised renderings. Findings 1. The DRB reviewed the sign proposal and found that the proposed signage is consistent with the standards and guidelines in the SRA Sign Manual and the City of Salem Sign Ordinance. 2. The proposed neon tubing creates a visually interesting sign that complements the lounge/restaurant/entertainment use of the space. Signature of the DRB By the signature below, I certify that this recommendation accurately reflects the actions of the Design Review Board. _______________________________________ ________ Paul Durand Date Chair 4-1-21 3/14/2021 Image1_(1)_Wed_Mar_10_2021_13-44-08.jpg (4032×3024) https://vpc3uploadedfiles.blob.core.windows.net/vpc3-files/salemma/Image1_(1)_Wed_Mar_10_2021_13-44-08.jpg?st=2021-03-14T17%3A17%3A05…1/1 3/14/2021 Image4_Wed_Mar_10_2021_13-44-46.jpg (3024×4032) https://vpc3uploadedfiles.blob.core.windows.net/vpc3-files/salemma/Image4_Wed_Mar_10_2021_13-44-46.jpg?st=2021-03-14T17%3A17%3A44Z&s…1/1 3/14/2021 Sign_Dimensions_Wed_Mar_10_2021_13-41-16.png (1572×1740) https://vpc3uploadedfiles.blob.core.windows.net/vpc3-files/salemma/Sign_Dimensions_Wed_Mar_10_2021_13-41-16.png?st=2021-03-14T17%3A15…1/1 3/14/2021 Frontage_Rendering_Wed_Mar_10_2021_13-41-29.png (2122×1792) https://vpc3uploadedfiles.blob.core.windows.net/vpc3-files/salemma/Frontage_Rendering_Wed_Mar_10_2021_13-41-29.png?st=2021-03-14T17%3A…1/1
