Ch. 40C) and the Salem Historic Districts Ordinance. District: McIntire Address of Property: 134 Federal Street Name of Record Owner: James Yamada Description of Approval of Work: • Repair and repoint chimneys with the following conditions: o Mortar to be type N mortar: 1/1/6 mix (Portland cement, hydrated lime and sand) to match existing color, grain size, texture and pointing technique; and o New brick to match existing in terms of color, size, texture and design. • Sheet metal caps will be added to each chimney. Any existing additions to chimneys will be replaced as necessary for the sake of the chimney's integrity. o Caps will be designed, fabricated, and installed per guidelines set out in "SALEM HISTORICAL COMMISSION PRACTICE REGARDING CHIMNEY CAPS" document. Upon completion of above approved work, please notify Historical Commission staff as final sign-off is required to document compliance with this Certificate.
