RE: Complaint Received Regarding Fence
Dear Mr. Hoxha,
As of August 23rd 2024 it has come to my attention that you have installed a
fence along the front yard of your property. I stopped by your property on
September 3rd 2024 where I observed a black rail fence over four feet in height
After looking into our records for your property, it appears the fence was
constructed sometime in the Spring of 2023 without a building permit
Your property is located within the Entrance Corridor Overlay Zoning District
(ECOD). Asper the City of Salem's Zoning Ordinance, Section 8.24 "Fences';
no fence along the front lot line shall be more than four(4)feet in height, as
measured from the curb level of the street In addition, 8.2.4, Item 3 requires
any fence that is constructed within the ECOD Zone shall require a permit
issued by the Building Department
Your fence installation is a violation of the City's Zoning Ordinance. I would like
to speak with you about the current situation. Please contact the Building
Department at (978)619-5642 upon receipt of this notice. If you are aggrieved by
this letter, your appeal is to the City's Zoning Board of Appeals.
