RE: Complaint Received Regarding Fence
Dear Mr. Timolien,
As ofAugust 23id 2024 it has come to my attention that you have installed a
fence along the front yard of your property. I stopped by your property on
September 31, 2024 where 1 observed a white PVC fence over four feet in
height.After looking into our records for your property, it appears the fence
was constructed without a building permit.
Your property is located within the Entrance Corridor Overlay Zoning District
(ECOD).Asper the City of Salem's Zoning Ordinance,Section 8.2.4 "Fences';
no fence along the front lot line shall be more than four(4)feet in height, as
measured from the curb level of the street. In addition, 8.2.4,Item 3 requires
any fence that is constructed within the ECOD zone shall require a permit
issued by the Building Department
Your fence installation is a violation of the City's Zoning Ordinance. I would like
to speak with you about the current situation. Please contact the Building
Department at(978) 619-5642 upon receipt of this notice. If you are aggrieved by
this letter, your appeal is to the City's Zoning Board of Appeals.
