(978)745-9595 STAVROULA ORFANOS DOMINICK PANGALLO BUILDING COMMISSIONER/ DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC PROPERTY MAYOR ZONING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER VIOLATION NOTICE PROPERTY LOCATION: 4-6 Prescott Street August 22"d, 2024 Curtis Llewellyn 4-6 Prescott Street Salem, MA 01970 RE: Complaint Received Regarding a Stormwater Discharge Violation Dear Mr. Llewellyn, As of August 1611, 2024 it has come to my attention that you have a leader discharging rain runofffrom your home's roof onto an adjacent carport roof. The collected water on the carport roof then is discharged by a leader that is placed in proximity of the property line for your lot. I stopped by your property on August 1911, 2024 where I observed the aforementioned described conditions. As per the 2015 MA International Residential Building Code, Section 401.3 "Drainage,,, Surface drainage shall be diverted to a storm sewer conveyance or other approved point of collection that does not create a hazard....Temporary and finished grading shall not direct nor create flooding or damage to adjacent property during or after completion of construction." Currently, a portion of your roof water catchment area, combined with the full water catchment area of the carport roof, is discharged at your property line which then slopes down towards your neighbor's property. This installation is a violation of the MA Building Code. I would like to speak with you about the current situation. Please contact the Building Department at(978) 619-5642 upon receipt of this notice.
