Dear Property Owner,
The Building Department was requested on Monday June 17, 2024, to meet the Fire Department at
the above location to conduct an inspection. During the inspection it was confirmed that the
basement is being used for illegal bedrooms. This is not an allowed use or a legal habitable space.
There are no emergency escape or rescue windows, which is violation of CMR 780 Sec.1030.1.
There are no smoke or carbon monoxide detectors, a violation of CMR 780 Sec. 907.2.11.
It is the order of this Department to cease and desist the use of the illegal bedrooms
immediately.
You must contact this office upon receipt of this letter.
Failure to comply will result in municipal code tickets and further enforcement
actions.
