On Monday, March 25, I met Health Inspector Jeff Vaughn at your property in Salem.
As you are aware,Mr. Vaughn was there regarding the sewerage problem in the
basement.
While viewing that problem we had to pass beneath the rear porch structure.
These porches are not in good repair. Due to the overall condition of the basement and
common area it is necessary to,conduct a full inspection of your property.
You are directed to contact this office within 10 days upon receipt of this letter to set up
an inspection.

Dear Sir:
In response to a complaint, the property owned by you and located
at 14 Daniels Street , Salem was inspected by this department on
October. 6 , 1976•
The following violations were noted during the inspection and
require your immediate attention.
1. Fire places are in poor condition and are not to be used.
2. Storage under front stairs is to be discontinued at once
and the area sealed to prevent furtur use.
3. Rear stairway in poor repair.' Certain rails , treads, and
posts require replacement.
J� 4. All interior bathrooms require venting to the outside air.
5. First floor bathroom wall in poor repair and a health hazard.
Must be repaired.
6. Wiring appears to be faulty and will be checked by Salem
Electrical Department.
7. Gas heater on third floor inproperly installed and will be
checked 'by Salem Gas Inspector.
Unless work is started within thirty (30) days of receipt of this
letter furthur action will be taken by this department. Please obtain
a building permit before starting the work.
