28 Beckford Street chipping Paint (003) May 4, 2022 Elaine Wintman & Danielle Hanrahan 28 Beckford Street Salem, MA. 01970 Dear Sir/Madam: As a result of a complaint received by this office and in accordance with Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 111, Section 122, a visual inspection of the building owned by you at 28 Beckford Street was conducted on May 4, 2022. This inspection was conducted from abutting yards and the sidewalk by Janice Duhaime, Sanitarian at the Salem Health Department. The exterior paint on the left side surface visible during the inspection was loose and peeling. Chips were noted on the neighbor’s yard. The peeling and flaking of such paint chips into neighbor’s yards constitute a serious public health nuisance. Therefor, you are herby ordered to abate this nuisance by scraping and securing any chipping areas on the siding and cleaning paint chips from the ground. Should you be aggrieved by this Order, you have the right to request a hearing before the Board of Health. A request for such a hearing must be received in writing in this office of the Board of Health within seven (7) days of receipt of this Order. At said hearing, you will be given the opportunity to be heard and to present witness and documentary evidence as to why this Order should be modified or withdrawn. You may be represented by an attorney. Please also be informed that you have the right to inspect and obtain copies of all relevant inspection or investigation reports, orders, and other documentary information in the possession of this Board, and that any adverse party has the right to be present at the hearing.
