Dear Sir/Madam,
On Thursday October 5, 2023 in response to a complaint from a resident, the Salem
Board of Health conducted sound meter readings at East Regiment Beer Company
located at 30 Church Street in Salem, MA. The complainant's residence, which is also
the closest residence to the establishment, is 65 Washington Street in Salem, MA.
Sound meter readings were taken in the morning. The sound source under investigation
was the grease vent on the roof of the establishment. Because the sound source is
elevated the sound meter readings were taken from 65 Washington Street's rear
balcony, which is level with the grease vent. Two readings were taken, one with the
grease vent off, and one with the grease vent on. The following are information and data
pertaining to the readings:
